BY A STAFF REPORTER: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin's attempt at a coup in Russia last week "greatly affected Russian power on the battlefield" and that Ukraine could benefit from a counterattack.

"They're losing the war," he said. They have no further victories on the battlefield in Ukraine and so they have started blaming someone. However, Prigozhin's rebellion could be beneficial in the early stages of Ukraine's counter-offensive.

"We have to take advantage of this situation to drive the enemy out of our land," he said. Counter-attacks will not be carried out quickly because human lives are valued and strategic where troops are deployed. People are our assets. That's why we're very careful. '

Zelensky also claimed that 21,000 Wagnerian mercenaries were killed and 80,000 Wagnerites wounded in eastern Ukraine.
