As tensions continue to mount between India and Pakistan following recent military confrontations, the United States has stepped in diplomatically, urging both nuclear-armed nations to pursue de-escalation and dialogue. In a statement issued by the U.S. Department of State, Secretary of State Marco Rubio was reported to have spoken with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to express deep concern over the evolving situation.

According to the press release, which was attributed to State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce, Secretary Rubio emphasized the importance of avoiding any miscalculation that could spiral into a broader conflict. “Secretary Rubio reiterated that both parties must find ways to de-escalate the current situation and re-establish direct communication,” the statement read.

He also conveyed Washington's willingness to assist in starting constructive talks between the two countries in an effort to reduce tensions and prevent future hostilities. The offer comes amid a spike in cross-border engagements, including India’s Operation Sindoor and retaliatory posturing from Pakistan, sparking concern within the international community.
