BY A STAFF REPORTER: The United States on Friday announced $345 million in military aid for Taiwan, the first major package of the Biden administration. The US has made the announcement to help Taiwan deal with China.

The White House said the package would include defense, education and training for Taiwanese citizens.

Washington will send man-portable air defense systems, or MANPADs, intelligence and surveillance capabilities, firearms and missiles, according to sources.
