un security council approves international force for haiti

BY A STAFF REPORTER: The U.N. Security Council on Monday voted to send a Kenya-led international mission to Haiti to try to bring stability to the gang-plagued Caribbean country.

While the resolution passed with 13 votes and two rejections, it also imposed a small arms ban, which previously only applied to unauthorized gang leaders.
