Sharma described the visit as “the most important decision of the century,” emphasizing the role of both countries’ leadership in strengthening diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties.

In an exclusive interview with ANM News, Sharma discussed the UK-India Free Trade Agreement, describing it as more than a mere paper signing. He called it a significant step towards bridging policymakers, industry leaders, and innovators from both nations. “This treaty will advance prosperity and benefit all,” he said, stressing the positive impact on businesses and key sectors across the UK and India.

He also supported India’s aspiration for a permanent seat on the UN Security Council, stating that Britain should actively back this move given India’s growing global influence.

On the issue of racism faced by Indian students in the UK, Sharma reiterated his decades-long fight against discrimination while stressing the need for fair access to education and policies to support students abroad.
