BY A STAFF REPORTER: The arrival of Typhoon Haiqi in Taiwan has led to the cancellation of domestic flights and evacuation of about 3,000 people, which is expected to bring heavy rain and strong winds to the south and east of the island. Haiqi is expected to hit mountainous and populated areas in southeast Taiwan on Sunday afternoon. The arrival of Haikui prompted counties and cities in the east and south to close schools and declare a one-day holiday for workers.
