On his ongoing four-day official visit to India, Thailand’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sihasak Phuangketkeow, underlined the growing strength and future potential of India-Thailand relations. Speaking at an interaction during his visit, he noted that both nations stand at a pivotal point in regional cooperation, driven by expanding trade avenues and strategic connectivity.

“We are strategic partners; our bilateral relations are important as the trade volume between our countries is increasing,” he said, expressing optimism about closer economic linkages. He stressed that India’s emerging market power places it high on the list of preferred destinations for Thai investors. “I am looking at Thai investors coming to India, as it is a big market,” he added, indicating Thailand’s willingness to deepen commercial collaboration.

The Minister also pointed out Thailand’s geographical and economic positioning as an avenue for broader integration. Highlighting its regional outreach, he remarked, “We also see Thailand as a gateway to ASEAN,” reinforcing the country’s role as a bridge between India and Southeast Asia.
