BY A STAFF REPORTER: Gunmen attacked the homes of people working for the United Nations and other international organizations in Sudan's capital Khartoum on Tuesday. Fighting between the country's armed forces and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) continued for a fourth day near the army command and presidential palace in Khartoum and near two RSF bases north and west of the capital. Witnesses said efforts to broker a ceasefire failed when clashes between the two sides resumed in central Khartoum hours after agreeing to a 24-hour ceasefire that came into effect at 6 p.m. local time. World Health Organization officials say at least 270 people have been killed and more than 2,600 injured in the unrest.
