BY A STAFF REPORTER: Seven people were killed and several others injured when a mosque filled with Friday prayers collapsed in the northern Nigerian city of Zaria.
Abdullahi Kwarbai, a spokesman for the Emirates Council of Zaria, said the incident took place when hundreds of worshippers were offering afternoon prayers at the city's central mosque. Initially, four bodies were found and later the rescue team searched the collapsed mosque and recovered the bodies of three more. '
