Delhi: Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov on Wednesday clarified that the decision on whether India will continue importing Russian oil rests solely with the Indian government.
“This is the question for the Indian government. The Indian Government is having in mind the national interest of this country in the first place, and our cooperation in energy is very much in tune with those interests,” Alipov said while addressing the media.
He emphasised that energy cooperation between India and Russia has always been aligned with India’s strategic and economic priorities. The Ambassador’s remarks come amid discussions on global energy dynamics and India’s ongoing engagement with Russia in the hydrocarbon sector.
