Delhi: The Russian Embassy in India has reaffirmed Moscow’s commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with New Delhi, underscoring resilience in bilateral relations despite global economic and political uncertainties. Roman Babushkin, Chargé d’Affaires of the Russian Embassy in India, emphasized that recent global developments, including sanctions-related pressures, would not deter cooperation between the two countries.

The envoy pointed out that ongoing international challenges are being addressed constructively and that both nations are capable of finding solutions that serve their mutual interests. His remarks followed reports suggesting that during President Vladimir Putin’s recent visit to the United States, Washington decided against imposing additional tariffs on India, a move seen as reducing trade tensions.

Defence cooperation remains a central pillar of Indo-Russian relations, particularly with the delivery of the S-400 missile defence system. Babushkin noted that the delivery process continues according to the agreed schedule, reaffirming Russia’s commitment to fulfilling its obligations in line with established agreements.
