BY A STAFF REPORTER: Ukraine's operational command said Russia launched a missile attack on the southern port infrastructure of Odessa on Thursday.
Russia reportedly fired a Kalibor missile from a submarine in the waters of the Black Sea. The missile hit an administrative building in the port, killing a civilian employee. Production equipment at a cargo terminal was damaged.
Oleh Kiper, head of the Odessa region's military administration, said the slain worker was a security guard. The guard building and two vehicles were also destroyed.
Ukraine's air force said Russia shot down two Kalibar missiles from a submarine in the Black Sea and eight Shahed-136/131 drones from the Primorsk-Akhtarsk side. The Calibur missiles were not destroyed, but eight drones were destroyed by the Air Force.
