Dubai, UAE: Highlighting the enduring military and strategic partnership between New Delhi and Moscow, Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov on Wednesday reaffirmed Russia’s long-standing commitment to India’s defence requirements. Speaking on the sidelines of the Dubai Air Show, Chemezov underscored that Russia has consistently supported India’s security interests for decades, including during periods when the country faced international sanctions.

“India and Russia have been partners for many years. Even when India was under sanctions, we supplied the country with weapons to ensure its security,” Chemezov said. He added that this approach continues unchanged today, with Russia committed to providing India with any military equipment it needs. “We continue the same approach as in previous years, supplying India with whatever military equipment it needs and ensuring our mutual interests in developing cooperation,” he noted.

When asked about potential Indian interest in procuring additional S-400 air defence systems or the Su-57 fifth-generation fighter aircraft, Chemezov declined to discuss specific negotiations but emphasised Russia’s readiness to respond to Indian requirements. “We have strong relations with India, and whatever India requires, we are here to support,” he said.
