Ina Stašević, Astana: Throughout human history, we have witnessed frequent interethnic conflicts that often have a religious connotation. The suffering and suffering of peoples due to such conflicts are immeasurable. Therefore, one rightly wonders what role religion and faith play in preserving peace.
In Astana, the city of peace and harmony, the 8th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions will be held on September 17 and 18, 2025. The theme of the Congress is "Dialogue of Religions: Synergy for the Future". The Congress is attended by more than 100 delegations of different world and traditional religions from 60 countries, eminent priests, distinguished scientists, prominent political leaders and representatives of international organizations. They discussed the challenges of our time, from extremism and conflict to issues of peace, respect and security.

Another prominent participant was Ahmed al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar. In 2019, he co-signed the historic Document on Human Fraternity with Pope Francis in Abu Dhabi.
