In a gesture of solidarity and diplomatic support, the Amir of the State of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of India over the recent cross-border terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

The Amir reached out to PM Modi via a telephonic conversation, expressing grief at the loss of innocent lives and firmly backing India’s right to act against terrorism. “HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani conveyed condolences and solidarity with the people of India… He expressed full support in India’s fight against terrorism and all its actions to bring the perpetrators to justice,” stated Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal in a social media post.

Prime Minister Modi thanked the Qatari leader for his strong message of support during this challenging time, acknowledging the growing strength of bilateral ties. The leaders also reiterated their mutual resolve to deepen the India-Qatar Strategic Partnership, especially in the aftermath of the Amir’s state visit to India earlier this year.

The conversation underscores the expanding scope of cooperation between New Delhi and Doha, ranging from energy and investments to regional security. In recent years, both nations have increasingly aligned on issues of counter-terrorism and economic collaboration.
