Delhi: During his visit to India, Paulo Rangel, the Portuguese Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, expressed deep appreciation for the strengthening bilateral ties between Portugal and India. Speaking at an event in Delhi, Rangel emphasized the immense potential for enhancing the relationship between the two countries, noting that the ongoing exchanges were a sign of the growing partnership.

"I really thank you for the opportunity to be here with you and also to give the sign that our relations are really very good," said Rangel. "But they also have a huge potential for the future. We can really enhance the framework of our relationship, and that is the reason you visited Portugal last year and I am visiting now in India."

Rangel's visit underscores the importance both nations place on their diplomatic and economic ties. He highlighted that the relationship between India and Portugal is not just based on historical connections but also on shared beliefs in a promising future. "This is a sign that we in Portugal love you very much, the relationship with India is strong, and not only for historical reasons but because we really believe that it's possible to go forward with a very promising and dynamic agenda in different fields," Rangel added.

The Minister's comments reflect a growing desire to broaden the scope of collaboration, with an emphasis on sectors such as trade, technology, culture, and education.
