Mumbai: United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s first official visit to India continued on Thursday with a series of high-profile engagements aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation across trade, culture, and education.
At a special media briefing, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said PM Starmer met Indian business leaders, visited Yash Raj Films, and attended a football event in collaboration with the UK Premier League in Mumbai. The engagements highlighted growing people-to-people and creative industry links between the two nations.
Misri added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally received PM Starmer at Raj Bhavan earlier today. The two leaders held extensive discussions covering bilateral, regional, and global issues. They also interacted with vice-chancellors from leading UK universities and met members of the India-UK CEO Forum to explore new opportunities in education and investment.
