PM Modi Thanks UK PM Starmer for Condemning Pahalgam Attack, Stresses Accountability for Misuse of Democratic Freedoms

New Delhi — Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday expressed appreciation for UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s strong condemnation of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. In a social media post, PM Modi also emphasized the shared understanding between the two leaders on the need to safeguard democracy from extremist ideologies.

“My gratitude to PM Keir Starmer for the strong condemnation of the Pahalgam terror attack. We also agree that extremist ideologies must not be allowed to misuse democratic freedoms. Those who misuse democratic freedoms to undermine democracy itself, must be held to account,” PM Modi said in a post on X.
