Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a telephone call on Monday from Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which the two leaders exchanged views on global and bilateral matters. The conversation included a briefing by President Putin on his recent meeting with United States President Donald Trump in Alaska last week.

Prime Minister Modi reiterated India’s consistent position that conflicts should be resolved through diplomacy and dialogue. He emphasized that India continues to support all international efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability.

Alongside discussions on global issues, the leaders also reviewed aspects of India-Russia bilateral cooperation. Both expressed a commitment to further strengthening their Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership, which spans areas including energy, defense, trade, and cultural exchanges. The dialogue highlighted the mutual interest of both countries in maintaining close coordination on matters of regional and global significance.

Both leaders agreed to remain in regular contact to advance cooperation and ensure continued engagement. The conversation underscored the importance of sustained communication between India and Russia at a time of evolving international dynamics.
