Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday met Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong at Hyderabad House in New Delhi, with talks centering on deepening economic and strategic cooperation between the two nations.
Prime Minister Wong, who is on a three-day official visit to India that began on Tuesday, held detailed discussions with his Indian counterpart on expanding two-way economic engagement. Both leaders emphasized building on the strong foundation of complementarities between India and Singapore, particularly in trade, technology, innovation, and talent mobility.
The meeting also highlighted ongoing collaboration in digital economy initiatives, clean energy, urban infrastructure, and skill development. Officials noted that Singapore continues to remain one of India’s most important trading partners and among the top sources of foreign direct investment, while India’s growing market offers new opportunities for Singaporean businesses.
