Tokyo: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart, Shigeru Ishiba, on Friday reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership during the 15th Annual Summit held in Tokyo.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, both leaders conducted a wide-ranging review of bilateral ties and outlined key areas for future cooperation. The discussions emphasized investment, innovation, technology, healthcare, mobility, and greater people-to-people exchanges as priorities for the partnership.

The summit also addressed emerging domains such as artificial intelligence, space exploration, and economic security. Security cooperation featured prominently, with both sides highlighting the need to deepen defense collaboration and maintain stability in the Indo-Pacific region.

India and Japan share close economic and strategic ties, with Japan being one of India’s largest investors and a key partner in infrastructure development. Recent collaborations include high-speed rail, digital technology, and joint initiatives in clean energy.
