Accra, Ghana – Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a spirited address to the Parliament of the Republic of Ghana, invoked the shared colonial pasts of India and Ghana while celebrating the unyielding spirit and cultural richness of both nations. Highlighting the bond between the two democracies, Modi offered a culturally resonant tribute, saying, “Our friendship is sweeter than your famous Sugar Loaf Pineapple,” referring to one of Ghana’s most prized fruits, symbolic of warmth and hospitality.
