Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday underlined India and Fiji’s shared vision for regional stability and global equity during a joint press conference with Fiji Prime Minister Sitiveni Ligamamada Rabuka at Hyderabad House.

Emphasizing the importance of maritime cooperation, Modi said, “We both believe in a free, open, inclusive, safe, and prosperous Indo-Pacific. The Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Oceans of Peace’ is a positive thought. India and Fiji may be oceans apart, but our aspirations sail in the same boat.”

The Prime Minister highlighted the growing partnership between the two nations in advancing the interests of the Global South. “We stand together in the development of the Global South. We are participants in shaping a global order where the Global South receives due respect for its independence, identity, and ideas,” he remarked.

Modi further stated that India and Fiji share a common approach toward inclusivity and cooperation. “We believe that no country should be ignored, and no nation should be left behind,” he said, reinforcing the idea of equitable growth and representation in international affairs.
