New Delhi — Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday described his meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer as “outstanding,” highlighting the significance of the recently signed Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between India and the United Kingdom.
In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi stated, “The talks with PM Keir Starmer were outstanding, particularly in the wake of the successful signing of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement. In addition to economic cooperation, this agreement sets the stage for boosting shared prosperity.”
The CETA, hailed as a major milestone in bilateral relations, is expected to enhance trade flows, reduce tariffs, and create new opportunities for businesses and workers in both countries. While formal details of the agreement are yet to be fully disclosed, it is understood to cover key sectors including technology, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and clean energy.
