New Delhi | Prime Minister Narendra Modi has departed for Cyprus, marking the start of a significant three-nation diplomatic tour that includes participation in the G7 Summit in Canada and an official visit to Croatia.
At the invitation of Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides, PM Modi will be in Cyprus from June 15 to 16 for a bilateral visit aimed at strengthening diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties between the two countries. This is expected to be PM Modi’s first visit to Cyprus since assuming office.
Following the Cyprus leg, PM Modi will fly to Canada to attend the G7 Summit from June 16 to 17, where he is expected to hold key discussions on global challenges including climate change, digital governance, economic resilience, and geopolitical stability. His participation at the summit, despite India not being a G7 member, underscores the country’s growing importance on the world stage.
The final leg of the tour includes a stop in Croatia, where bilateral meetings are scheduled to explore new avenues of cooperation, particularly in trade, defense, and innovation.
