New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reaffirmed India's deepening partnership with the European Union, calling it a "natural and organic" alliance built on trust and shared democratic values. Speaking at a joint press conference with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen at Hyderabad House, Modi highlighted key agreements aimed at accelerating bilateral cooperation.
"We have had sincere and meaningful discussions on various regional and global issues. Many decisions have been taken to elevate and accelerate our partnership," Modi stated, underscoring the significance of the EU delegation’s visit to India. He described the visit as "unprecedented," marking the first such engagement of the European Commission in any single country.
A major takeaway from the discussions was the push for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA), with Modi expressing confidence in its realization by the end of this year. "We have asked our teams to work on a mutually beneficial FTA and to realize it by the end of this year," he announced.
