Philippines bus falls off ravine

BY A STAFF REPORTER: At least 16 people have been killed after a bus carrying several passengers fell off a mountain in the central province of Antique.

Antique Governor Rodora Cadiao said eight people were in critical condition and four were stable. '

"On Tuesday afternoon, the passenger bus from Iloilo province was on its way to the town of Kulasi in Antique when its brakes failed on a curved road and plunged into a ditch 30 meters (98.5 feet) below," Cadiao said. '
