London: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, on his visit to London, held a meeting with Sir Lindsay Hoyle, the Speaker of the House of Commons of the UK Parliament, to discuss the enduring relationship between India and the United Kingdom.
Speaking after the meeting, Birla underscored the historical and democratic ties binding the two nations. “I spoke to the Speaker of the House of Commons. India and the UK have long and strong relations with each other. Both countries believe in democracy and share democratic values,” he remarked.
The meeting highlighted the shared commitment of both nations to uphold democratic principles and work together on common interests. The exchange comes as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen parliamentary cooperation and deepen bilateral ties between the two democracies.
