Oil Pipeline Ruptures in Western Ukraine

An explosion occurred at an oil pipeline in western Ukraine.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Nine people, including four children, were injured when an oil pipeline exploded in western Ukraine on Saturday, the regional governor said.

Ivano-Frankivsk Governor Suitlana Onishchuk said four of the injured were in critical condition. The fire has been brought under control and the oil flow has stopped.

"As the pressure on the pipeline dropped, oil products leaked and the fire started, which spread to a private home," Onishchuk said. "
