BY A STAFF REPORTER: Mexico's death toll from a deadly hurricane this week in the beach resort of Acapulco rose to 39 after President Andrés Manuel López Obrador accused his opponents of escalating the scale of the disaster, the government said On Saturday.

Hurricane Otis hit Acapulco on Wednesday with winds of up to 165 miles per hour (266 kilometers) per hour, flooding the city, tearing down roofs of homes, shops and hotels, submerging vehicles and cutting off road and air communications.
