Mumbai: In a significant diplomatic signal following the Iran-Israel ceasefire, Kobbi Shoshani, the Consul General of Israel to Mumbai, expressed optimism over the de-escalation and outlined a hopeful vision for the future of the Middle East.
“Everyone is coming back to some sort of normalcy,” Shoshani said, addressing reporters. “We are very happy; we achieved our goals, which is extremely important for Iran and the entire region.”
Though the specific terms of the ceasefire remain confidential, both Iran and Israel have reportedly agreed to halt active hostilities after months of heightened tensions and military engagements that threatened to spill over into broader regional instability.
Shoshani emphasized that the priority now is to shift focus from conflict to cooperation. “I think we are expecting a completely different change in the Middle East, with prosperity and peace among all countries,” he said. “That is our aim now: to bring economic growth and prosperity to the region.”
The ceasefire has been welcomed by multiple global actors, including the United Nations and regional powers like the UAE and Saudi Arabia, as a critical turning point in preventing a full-scale war.
