BY A STAFF REPORTER: Iraq has called on Turkey to apologise for the shelling at Sulaymaniyah airport in northern Iraq, saying the Turkish government must stop hostilities on Iraqi soil. The Iraqi presidency said in a statement: "Turkey has no legal justification for continuing its method of intimidating civilians on the pretext that its enemy power remains on Iraqi soil." "A drone strike was carried out around Sulaymaniyah airport, but there was no damage or delay or suspension of flights," said Lauk Ghafuri, head of foreign media affairs at the Kurdish Regional Government (KRG). The attack came days after Turkey closed its airspace for flights to and from Sulaymaniyah due to the strengthening of activities by Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants.
