Sihanoukville, Cambodia – The ships of the First Training Squadron (1TS), comprising INS Sujata and ICGS Veera, arrived at Sihanoukville Port, Cambodia, on February 14 as part of their Long Range Training Deployment to Southeast Asia. The vessels received a warm welcome from representatives of Cambodia’s maritime agencies, underscoring the growing naval ties between the two nations.
During their port call from February 14 to 17, the Indian naval units will engage in a series of activities designed to strengthen cooperation and interoperability with the Royal Cambodian Navy (RCN). These include professional exchanges, cross-training visits, social interactions, and friendly sports fixtures. A key highlight of the visit will be the Passage Exercise (PASSEX) conducted with the RCN, aimed at enhancing joint operational capabilities.
In a significant gesture of defense cooperation, the Indian delegation will also formally hand over a Small Arms Simulator to the Royal Cambodian Army. The visit reflects India’s commitment to deepening strategic and maritime partnerships in the Indo-Pacific region while providing invaluable training to naval personnel.
