New Delhi: Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri paid an official visit to Nepal from August 11-12, 2024, at the invitation of Nepal's Foreign Secretary, Sewa Lamsal. This marks Misri's first visit to Nepal since assuming office last month, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

During his engagements, both nations reaffirmed their close and friendly relations, which are deeply rooted in historical, cultural, civilizational, and people-to-people ties. The discussions highlighted the substantial progress made in recent years in various areas of bilateral cooperation, particularly in connectivity—encompassing physical, digital, energy, and people-to-people connections.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the steady implementation of infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, Integrated Check Posts, cross-border railways, and petroleum pipelines, which have significantly bolstered the partnership between India and Nepal.
