New Delhi, June 13 — India has voiced serious concern over the escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, particularly in light of recent reports suggesting attacks on nuclear facilities. In an official statement, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) urged both nations to exercise restraint and avoid any actions that could further inflame the volatile situation.

“We are deeply concerned at the recent developments between Iran and Israel. We are closely monitoring the evolving situation, including reports related to attacks on nuclear sites. India urges both sides to avoid any escalatory steps,” the MEA said.

The ministry emphasized that all existing diplomatic channels should be actively utilized to de-escalate tensions and address the root causes of conflict. “Existing channels of dialogue and diplomacy should be utilised to work towards a de-escalation of the situation and resolving underlying issues,” it added.

Highlighting India’s balanced diplomatic ties with both nations, the MEA noted, “India enjoys close and friendly relations with both the countries and stands ready to extend all possible support.”

The Indian government has also assured that its embassies in Tehran and Tel Aviv are in contact with the Indian diaspora. “Our Missions in both countries are in contact with the Indian community. All Indian nationals in the region are advised to exercise caution, stay safe and follow local security advisories,” the statement concluded.
