New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has firmly rejected the references made to India in a recent UK Parliamentary Committee report, calling the allegations baseless and lacking credibility. In an official press release issued in response to media queries, MEA Spokesperson Shri Randhir Jaiswal categorically dismissed the claims outlined in the report.
“We have seen the references to India in the report and categorically reject these baseless allegations,” Jaiswal said. He stated that the claims “stem from unverified and dubious sources, predominantly linked to proscribed entities and individuals with a clear, documented history of anti-India hostility."
The MEA criticised the report’s credibility, highlighting that it appeared to rely heavily on sources known for promoting anti-India narratives. “The deliberate reliance on discredited sources calls into question the credibility of the report itself,” the spokesperson added.
While the report’s specific contents have not been detailed publicly, India’s response indicates concerns over narratives that may have emerged from groups or individuals considered hostile to India’s interests.
