New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has confirmed receiving a formal diplomatic communication from the Bangladesh High Commission concerning the extradition of Sheikh Hasina, the former and ousted Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
Addressing the media, an MEA spokesperson stated, "We confirm that we have received a Note Verbale from the Bangladesh High Commission today in connection with an extradition request. At this time, we have no comment to offer on this matter."
The Note Verbale is a formal request submitted through diplomatic channels, indicating the High Commission’s official approach on a sensitive and high-profile issue. While details of the request remain undisclosed, its receipt signals a significant development in the bilateral relations between India and Bangladesh.
