New Delhi, July 22 — The Home Secretary-level talks between India and Nepal were held in New Delhi on July 22, marking a continuation of efforts by both nations to enhance bilateral cooperation on key security and administrative matters.

The Indian delegation was led by Govind Mohan, Home Secretary, Government of India, while the Nepali delegation was headed by Gokarna Mani Duwadee, Home Secretary, Government of Nepal. The meeting covered a wide range of issues including border management, security collaboration, cross-border crime, infrastructure development, and the facilitation of people-to-people movement.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination between their respective security agencies and to strengthening institutional mechanisms for effective cooperation. The talks are part of a broader diplomatic framework aimed at improving bilateral ties and addressing shared concerns through regular dialogue.

Officials discussed mechanisms to enhance border infrastructure, manage transnational crimes such as human trafficking and drug smuggling, and ensure smooth cross-border trade and transit. Emphasis was also laid on mutual trust, information sharing, and the peaceful management of border-related issues.
