New Delhi: The 19th India-Iran Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) were held on January 3, 2025, in New Delhi, co-chaired by Vikram Misri, India’s Foreign Secretary, and Dr. Majid Takht Ravanchi, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs. The meeting marked a significant step in enhancing bilateral relations and addressing regional challenges.

The discussions covered a wide range of topics, including the development and operationalization of the Chabahar Port, which is pivotal for regional connectivity. The two sides also delved into agricultural cooperation, trade, and economic issues, as well as fostering cultural and people-to-people ties.

Dr. Majid Takht Ravanchi, during his visit, met with External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar. Their talks focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and addressing pressing regional issues. According to a statement by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), both sides emphasized the importance of continuing high-level exchanges to maintain the momentum in bilateral relations.

“The discussions reviewed the entire spectrum of the bilateral relationship and current regional challenges. Both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation and continue the momentum of high-level exchanges,” the MEA said in its statement.
