New Delhi: German Ambassador to India, Philipp Ackermann, emphasized the strong partnership between India and Germany in the areas of sustainability, science, and innovation during an event marking 50 years of Indo-German scientific collaboration.

“There’s the partnership for green and sustainable development between India and Germany, a well-funded initiative where we spend more than a billion euros annually on common projects in India,” said Ackermann.

Speaking on the occasion, he outlined the focus on advancing scientific cooperation between the two nations. “Tonight, we are talking about scientific cooperation, how Germany and India can collaborate to find new techniques and ways to invest in renewables and reduce carbon emissions. This is very important,” he added.

The event celebrated half a century of joint scientific endeavors, which Ackermann described as a “huge achievement we are very proud of.”

The Indo-German partnership is rooted in mutual goals of sustainability and innovation, with significant investments in renewable energy, climate change mitigation, and cutting-edge technology research. Ackermann reiterated Germany’s commitment to strengthening this collaboration as both countries work towards a greener and more sustainable future.
