New Delhi: Strengthening their cultural and diplomatic ties, India and France signed an agreement for the Yuga Yugeen Bharat National Museum, a landmark collaboration between India’s Ministry of Culture and France Muséums Développement. External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar underscored the deep-rooted strategic partnership between the two nations during the signing ceremony.

“This has been a very strong relationship, a strategic partnership. India and France see in each other important poles in a multipolar world,” said Dr. Jaishankar. He highlighted the shared vision of the two countries, which emphasizes independence in global perspectives rather than conforming to external definitions.

Elaborating on the broader significance of the partnership, Dr. Jaishankar remarked, “When you hear India and France talk about how we see the world in our way, not necessarily in terms of how others might want to define it, it's our history and heritage that gives us the confidence to take those positions.”

The Yuga Yugeen Bharat National Museum aims to showcase India’s rich cultural heritage while promoting international collaboration. The initiative also aligns with the broader goal of fostering mutual understanding and shared values through cultural exchange.

Dr. Jaishankar noted, “When we deepen our cultural collaboration, we are also actually adding to a particular kind of relationship which we believe would create a new and more democratic world government.”

The agreement reflects the long-standing cultural synergy between India and France, further reinforcing their role as pivotal players in shaping a more inclusive global order. The museum, envisioned as a testament to India’s timeless legacy, is expected to become a symbol of this enduring partnership.
