New Delhi: India has raised concerns over the recent vandalization of the memorial and residence of Bangladesh’s founding father, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The incident, which took place in Bangladesh, has drawn strong reactions from various quarters, with India emphasizing the importance of protecting historical and diplomatic sites.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri addressed the issue, underscoring that ensuring the security of diplomatic and historically significant premises is a fundamental responsibility of the host nation. "We would also like to point out that the safety of diplomatic premises is the responsibility of the host government, and I have no doubt that the Bangladesh authorities are fully aware of their responsibilities in this regard," Misri said.
