Canberra: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held a wide-ranging bilateral meeting with Australia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, Richard Marles, in Canberra on Thursday, during his official two-day visit to Australia.
According to an official release, the meeting marked the fifth anniversary of the India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening defence cooperation across multiple areas, including joint military exercises, maritime security, defence industry collaboration, and research in science and technology.
The discussions underscored the growing convergence between India and Australia in ensuring a free, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific region. Both ministers reviewed the progress of ongoing initiatives under the defence partnership and explored new avenues for capacity building and technology sharing.
