Riga, Latvia, May 31 — As part of India’s global diplomatic outreach following the Pahalgam terror attack, Ambassador Namrata S. Kumar confirmed that the Indian all-party delegation has found “strong support and understanding” in Latvia. The delegation engaged with key stakeholders in the Latvian Parliament, Foreign Ministry, and strategic think tanks, where they laid bare the reality of cross-border terrorism and India’s measured but firm response through Operation Sindoor.
“The delegation carried a strong message through Operation Sindoor, which I conveyed during meetings in Latvia,” Ambassador Kumar stated. “They emphasized that these threats — particularly efforts to divide societies along religious lines — are not just regional, but global in nature.”
Highlighting India’s long-standing struggle with cross-border terrorism, especially from Pakistan, the ambassador stressed that peace-loving nations like Latvia have a vital role in building international consensus to isolate and hold state sponsors of terror accountable.
“The delegation made two key points: India is a peace-loving, responsible nation, focused on economic growth. But if provoked, we will respond — as demonstrated in Operation Sindoor,” she said. The ambassador reiterated that the operation was a “precise, targeted action” aimed strictly at terror infrastructure, carried out with restraint and regard for civilian safety.
