BY A STAFF REPORTER: The IDF has struck a Syrian army outpost in southern Syria in response to rocket fire in northern Israel. It is reported that several rockets were fired from Syria, some of which crossed the border and landed in the open area of the Golan Heights.

The IDF said it shelled with artillery and tanks hit a Syrian army position.

The IDF said several rockets had been fired from Lebanon to Kiryat Shmona in the past.
