Fire at the embassy! Sweden angry with Iraq

The Swedish embassy in Baghdad was set on fire in the early hours of Thursday.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Sweden's foreign minister said On Thursday that Iraq's charge d'affaires was being summoned to Stockholm after angry protesters attacked and set fire to the embassy in Baghdad over the burning of a Koran on the premises of the Swedish embassy.

"What has happened is completely unacceptable and the government strongly condemns this attack," Foreign Minister Tobias Bilstrom said in a statement. Iraqi authorities have an unambiguous obligation to protect diplomatic missions and personnel under the Vienna Convention. " 

Police used water cannons to disperse protesters from the embassy.
