Ex-Pakistani PM Imran Khan Faces 10-year Imprisonment in Cipher case

Former Pakistani Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan along with former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Tuesday were sentenced to 10 year-imprisonment for violating the Official Secrets Act.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Former Pakistani Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan along with former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Tuesday were sentenced to 10 year-imprisonment for violating the Official Secrets Act. 

Reportedly, Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi were involved in divulging a secret diplomatic cable called 'Cipher' which was sent by Pakistan's embassy in Washington back in March 2023. Moreover, Khan is also booked under several other cases. 

Imran Khan along with Shah Mehmood Qureshi are currently in the high-security Adiala Jail in Pakistan's Rawalpindi. They have been incarcerated since September 26 last year
