BY A STAFF REPORTER: More than 100 people have been killed in ethnically motivated attacks by Sudan's paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and allied militias in the West Darfur region, the UN human rights chief said on Tuesday. Bloodshed, violence and displacement have increased since fighting between Sudan's army and the RSF began in April, bringing the country to the brink of civil war.
"Hundreds of non-Arab civilians have been killed in ethnically motivated attacks by the RSF and allied Arab militias in West Darfur," U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk told the Human Rights Council in Geneva. '
