Cairo, Egypt — In a significant diplomatic engagement, Karim Darwish, Head of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Egyptian House of Representatives, extended Egypt’s solidarity with India in the global fight against terrorism. The statement followed a meeting with an all-party Indian parliamentary delegation led by NCP-SCP MP Supriya Sule.
Darwish welcomed the Indian delegation warmly, noting the historical depth and strategic importance of India-Egypt relations. “We are pleased to have the Indian delegation come to the Egyptian House of Representatives,” he said. “India is a very close country to Egypt, and we have a lot of ties in different dimensions.”
Expressing condolences for the victims of the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack, in which 26 Indian civilians lost their lives, Darwish acknowledged Egypt’s own painful history with terrorism and emphasized the shared imperative to counter it collectively. “Our country has suffered lots of acts of terrorism, so we understand how important it is to work globally together,” he stated.
