External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar welcomed Angolan President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço during his State Visit to India, highlighting the strong foundation of bilateral ties between the two countries. Sharing his appreciation for the warm sentiments expressed by President Lourenço towards India, Jaishankar emphasized the importance of the ongoing visit in furthering the strategic partnership between India and Angola.

Jaishankar expressed confidence that Lourenço’s discussions with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi later in the day would pave the way for expanding economic and diplomatic collaboration between India and Angola. "Confident that his talks with PM @narendramodi later today will chart new avenues of growth for India-Angola & India-Africa ties," Jaishankar added, indicating the visit’s potential to deepen India’s engagement with Africa, a key region for India’s foreign policy.
